Terms and Conditions for Postgraduate Diploma Course

What can I expect from the course?

The course is an advanced study course in therapeutic approaches which can be applied in the context of a body-therapy or movement-therapy session. Since the theory is based on Western insights to Developmental Movement and Oriental knowledge of the energetic functions of the organism, this is particularly relevant to practitioners working within the context of Shiatsu or other Oriental Therapies. However, this is not a pre-requisite and several dance therapists, movement therapists and pscyhotherapists have taken the course succesfully. There are four distinct aspects to the course content:

1) The theory and techniques associated with working with the Six Combined Channels and their link to developmental movement.
2) The development of the quality of touch and quality of personal contact
3) Self-exploration and group process
4) Learning the discipline of Inner Qigong. See http://www.innerqigong.com

The details of what you can expect from these aspects of the course are found in the pdf version of these terms and conditions which can be downloaded from http://www.seed.org/terms_and_conditions.pdf

How much does it cost?

The course 2013 costs £1095 excluding accomodation. This will be reduced by £100 if you commit to the course before Oct 31st 2012 (see below for details of this early bird discount). We also ask that you pay for the accommodation in the residentials which currently comes to £245 per residential if staying in the manor house or £160 if camping. We reserve the right to increase the accomodation fees if the venue increases them - however, once the course has started, these costs will not be changed. If the accomodation fees are increased you will be notified and given the chance to cancel your booking.

If enough people book on the course then there will be a limited number of bursaries at a reduced rate for people who can demonstrate that they are keen to do the course and have limited income. These bursaries sometimes take the form of a reduction in fees in return for some administrative responsibility within the course.

Early Bird Discounts

If you book on the course and pay the full teaching fee for the first residential before the 31st Oct 2012 we will give you a discount of £100. The first residential costs £395 plus your accommodation costs. The discount will be subtracted from the final payment you make in the whole course.

Who do I write the cheque to?

The School for Experiential Education

Where are the Residential Courses held?

In Gaunts House, near Wimborne, in Dorset

What is the timetable for the courses?

Residentials start at 6pm on the Thursday, dinner is served at 6.30pm and then we have an evening session 8.30- 10.30. On Sunday the course ends at 3.00pm.

How much deposit is required?

We ask for an initial deposit of £200 to reserve your place on the first residential. This is non refundable.

Who do I write to to discuss payment terms.

Bill Palmer - use our contact form at the bottom of this page

How do I pay the balance?

You may pay the balance in two ways:

  1. Payment of the entire course fee + accomodation costs for the first residential can be paid at the beginning of the first residential course.

  2. Payment by installments may be negotiated but must be agreed in writing before the start of the course. This must take the form of a standing order, paid at regular intervals. If you pay by installments, you wil sign a contract stating that you will pay the full fee + accomodation costs.

If I just do the first residential, what is the cost?

You will pay £395 for the teaching fee and, in addition, you pay the cost of the board and lodging at the venue (this is reduced if you are camping - you still get meals and can use bathroom facilities).

If you then decide to commit to the whole course then these payments will be subtracted from the fee for the course. Discounts will still apply as long as you pay the whole sum before the end of the first residential or shortly afterwards by agreement with Bill Palmer

What happens if I want to cancel?

If you want to cancel before the course starts, you will simply lose the deposits you have made since we will have to pay these to the venues in any case.

If you want to cancel after the course starts, it will depend on the reason for cancellation. If you are seriously ill and cannot attend the rest of the course for medical reasons, we will refund you most of the value of the remainder of the course, calculated pro-rata on the number of teaching days the course still has left to run. For this to apply, you need to give us an official signed letter from your doctor, describing the condition and the reason that you cannot continue.

If you want to cancel after the course starts for another reason then we will listen to your reasons and, at our sole discretion, give a refund if we feel it is appropriate. We are under no obligation to refund any course fees but will do so, without prejudice, in a way we feel is fair to the circumstances.
