Char is the course director of the British School of Shiatsu-Do. She has completed two years of Postgraduate Studies in Movement Shiatsu and in Experiential Teaching with the School for Experiential Education and is a recognised teacher of Movement Shiatsu.

Char's Shiatsu and Oriental Medicine training started at the Community Health Foundation in London around 19 years ago. She graduated from the BSS London run by Ray Ridolfi and Susanne Franzen, followed by a postgraduate one year's training with Sonia Moriceau, Healing Shiatsu Education Centre.

Continuing to build and refine her Shiatsu practice, Char has worked with other Shiatsu teachers including Pauline Sasaki, Clifford Andrews, Saul Goodman, and Michael Rose nd Bill Palmer.

Char is also accredited in Craniosacral Therapy and in Seitai and is employed an NHS (Mental Health) Trust giving Shiatsu treatments to people under their care, it was a natural development that Shiatsu in relation to Mental Heath and Post Traumatic Stress became two of her particular areas of interest and research. She has taught on these subjects at the European Shiatsu Congress in Switzerland and at the Hamburg School of Shiatsu in Germany.
