Audicia has been running a practice in Shiatsu, Aromatherapy and Craniosacral
Therapy based at The
WholeWorks Complementary Therapy and Counselling Centre
in Edinburgh since 1996.
She provides treatment sessions for Stress Management in
several major corporations.
Through SEED she runs classes and
workshops in:
- T’ai-Chi
Chuan
- Experiential Anatomy
- Movement for Health
- Movement
Shiatsu and The Six Forms of
Touch
- Movement Ritual and The Blue Woman Workshops
in both the UK and Europe.
In addition to her work as a bodywork therapist she is also
Artistic Director of the Collaborative Arts Performance Company: State
Theta..

1977-80 Originally trained as a dancer
at London University . On completing this dance training
she began exploring various forms of alternative movement,
which led her into body work.
1982 Began studying at the British School
of T’ai-Chi Chuan in London and continued this study
with various teachers in Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan
between 1987-89.
1986 Began studying with Bill Palmer who
has, through his own research into Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu,
Meditation, Voice and Body Mind Centering, developed “Movement
Shiatsu and The Six Forms of Touch”.
1987 Was awarded an Arts Council training
bursary to study T’ai-Chi Chuan and its relationship
to dance. As a development of this she became interested
in Body Work and specifically in Shiatsu.
1990 Began full time training at Glasgow
School of Shiatsu and graduated from the Shiatsu Society
of Great Britain in 1994 as a registered practitioner MRSS.
1990 Founded State Theta, Collaborative
Arts Performance Company.
1993-95 Studied at the Fellside Alexander
School in Cumbria on a one year developmental course and
subsequently went on to do the first year of a three year
teacher training course in the Alexander technique. Whilst
attending the school she taught Movement Shiatsu and its
relationship to the Alexander Technique as part of the teacher
training programme.
1996 Established bodywork practice at ‘The
WholeWorks’, Edinburgh.
1996-97 Studied with Indonesian Dance masters,
Ben Suharto and Suprapto Suryodarmo, in Healing Movement
and Amerta Movement.
1998 Founded the Edinburgh branch of SEED
(School for Experiential Education) under the directorship
of Bill Palmer.
1998-99 Post Graduate Training in Craniosacral
Therapy at the Karuna Institute in Devon gained under the
direction of Franklyn Sills.
1999 Began studying on the Certified Practitioner
Programme in Body Mind Centering in the US with Bonnie Bainbridge
Cohen.
1999 Awarded Scottish Arts Council Choreographic
Development Award. Performance “Teetering on the Edge
of Stillness” an enquiry into the emergence of cellular
life and death.
2000 Attained teaching status from the
Shiatsu Society of Great Britain:- MRSS(T).
2000 Co-founded ‘The
Shiatsu School, Edinburgh’. Currently running
3 years of an accredited practitioner programme.
2001 Began studying Expressive Arts Therapy
and Education at The Tamalpa Institute in California with
Anna Halprin
2003 Studied Authentic Movement with Zoe
Avstreih at The Naropa Institute, Boulder, Colorado
